Show Me Love

February is considered to be “The Month of Love” but is it? … Was it?
What does love even mean to you? Yes, YOU reading this right now...
Love is an incredibly subjective
feeling/emotion as everyone gives & receives love in different ways.
With this in mind, how do we categorize what love truly is or means to someone
and more importantly – how do we SHOW it?
When working at an event venue that hosts not only their fair share of weddings but corporate functions and charity events, you see and learn a thing or two about love in all its forms…
During this month of February, the team at Verona Villa had the privilege of being a part of multiple events that spread copious amounts of love. From weddings, to galas, to charitable functions, February was a busy month for our group. From our owner winning Entrepreneur of the Year via The Frisco Chamber of Commerce to our very own Venue Showcase, and of course Casino Royale - a special & memorable event benefiting our countries veterans; Verona Villa was feeling all the emotions. There is a lot of love surrounding not only us but our community and the people that live here and support us. In the past few months at Verona Villa and most recently during the month of February, we’ve truly had the pleasure of meeting some incredible folks and created lasting friendships that we never anticipated. This community is truly something special and the support has been a true blessing.
However, with all of the joy and love that has been shown to us, we cannot forget that certain displays of injustice are happening around the country right now which is why collectively, we know that the world could use a little more love. If everyone aspired to loving just a little bit more, how would that change your day or perhaps your life? Say you commit to simply smiling at someone or saying hi to a random stranger. You never know how that can impact someone’s day…
The ancient Greeks have a wise way of categorizing love. While some say there are four, five or even eight categories, the one I want to broach is Agape Love. As I mentioned before, each love can be interpreted differently by everyone and when it comes to matters of the heart, there should be no wrong interpretation. The way I interpret this kind of love is a collective love for human kind, nature and god. This type of love is the ultimate sacrifice in that it’s an unselfish kind of love where one gives without expecting anything in return and does so happily as long as it benefits another. The focus is to bring more love for human beings in general whether we know them or not and this is what we need more of. In a culture that tends to highlight disconnect and tragedy, let’s all strive to bring a bit more unconditional love into the world and into others. Don’t think twice about it, just let it flow from within.
So, I leave you with these questions…
What does L O V E mean to you?
How can you be better about spreading love in everyday life?
